Marine, energy sectors benefit from ATPI acquisition

Feb 21, 2022

ATPI Australia, a part of The ATPI Group a global leader in travel management and events, has acquired The Travel Authority Group in a move that will expand ATPI’s presence in the marine and energy sectors.

The Travel Authority Group, an independent agency group with offices in Sydney and Perth, has developed its business over two decades and across two States to become an expert in corporate, marine, leisure and event travel.

It services large offshore marine and energy customers from its Perth office.

ATPI also has a reputation for expertise in the marine and energy sectors.

ATPI Regional Managing Director Australasia and Africa Peter Muller said the acquisition and consolidation of the businesses would provide the opportunity to capitalise on the joint reputations and expertise.

“The Travel Authority is a good fit for ATPI,” Mr Muller said. “TTA has established itself as a worthy provider of travel services to the marine and energy sectors in WA and the acquisition offers significant commonalities and a respected and experienced management team.

“Both businesses have access to specialist airline fares for marine and energy travel and the expanded business will provide an increased presence in the Perth marketplace.

“ATPI uses advanced predictive technology created for the marine sector to help solve challenges around risk management, and to reduce travel costs and ensure efficient crew changes.

“Across the marine and energy sectors our clients use our expertise to assist with site shutdown mobilisations, ad-hoc and scheduled charter management, and accommodation and isolation hubs including covid testing rooms and facilities for inductions.”

Other services include the ability to arrange carbon neutral charter flights and, more widely, to achieve carbon offsets using ATPI Halo,  a carbon measurement, reduction, and offset service.

“ATPI Australia is set for a sustained period of growth with this acquisition,” Mr Muller said. “We have great confidence in the travel market, particularly the marine and energy and mining sectors as they continue to grow in a post-COVID environment.”
