EM&I has been awarded a second contract for their innovative ODIN® technology with a major client developing one of the largest offshore gas developments in Northern Australia, bringing many advantages to the field operator.

The client was determined to use the latest safety and low carbon technology as a key strategy to show continued leadership in the market and decided to use EM&I’s ODIN® diverless and NoMan® remote tank inspection methods as part of the design.

They were the first to use the full NoMan optical and laser system in 2021 on a long-term project for one of their operating units in West Africa and the contracts for new build units is a further step forward by installing a diverless ODIN system on all their critical sea valves to enable inspection ‘in the dry’.

The clear benefits of avoiding putting divers at risk, reducing POB (Persons on Board), and reducing weather dependence is added to by much improved inspection quality, budget certainty and lower carbon emissions.

This type of forward thinking keeps them at the forefront of innovation and safety.
