DiveSource bolsters service offering with WEST project completion

Jan 23, 2022

Leading subsea consultancy DiveSource has completed the Wind Energy Support Toolkit (WEST) scheme, priming the Aberdeenshire-based company to grow its offering in the offshore wind sector.

Developed and administered by the Offshore Wind Growth Partnership, WEST is a business transformation programme providing expert business support, market intelligence and insights into the rapidly-expanding offshore wind energy sector.

Steve Ham, Commercial Manager at DiveSource, said: “While DiveSource has experience in the offshore wind energy sectors, WEST has deepened our sector knowledge and highlighted compelling opportunities which are a great fit for the company’s strategic growth plans.

“The project has been extremely beneficial in helping us to identify promising client sectors in the industry, and has enabled us to create a highly specialised business plan targeting growth in specific sectors.

The programme support was delivered by industry specialists from Opergy via a series of in-depth seminars. These spotlighted opportunities where the services DiveSource already provides to the offshore energy sector and onshore utilities markets could be applied to the offshore wind industry.

DiveSource now plans to demonstrate how its suite of services can add value to developers and supply chain companies in the offshore wind sector, improving operational safety while simultaneously reducing costs.

Sarah Hutcheon, Managing Director of DiveSource, added: “We were delighted to be part of this programme, which will help us to accelerate our growth in the offshore wind sector over the next three years.

“WEST represents an excellent opportunity to identify key areas where our range of services meet the sometimes unidentified requirements of diving within offshore wind, and highlighted some really interesting opportunities for us to develop our business further.”

DiveSource operates across the offshore wind, energy and utilities sectors to provide training, personnel, competency and due diligence services.

It assists clients throughout the entire project lifecycle; from planning, initial survey work to site preparation, installation, and inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) programmes to decommissioning.

The news follows on from an earlier announcement in 2021 unveiling Steve Ham as DiveSource’s first Commercial Manager during a period of sustained growth for the six-year-old company.
