Jan 31, 2022

CNPC’s petrol-hydrogen station was put into operation on Pingxiao Road in Shanghai. Covering an area of 2,943.6 square meters, this energy station offers comprehensive services of oil, gas and hydrogen refueling, recharging, and convenience store, with a hydrogen refueling capacity of 1000 kg/12 hours.

The petrol-hydrogen hybrid station on Pingxiao Road is the first of such kind of CNPC in Shanghai, and also the first in China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone (SHFTZ). This station is of milestone significance in practicing the green and low-carbon development strategy of CNPC, assisting Shanghai to build a strategic emerging industrial system and realize the transformation and upgrading of enterprises and localities under the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality. Moreover, it will fuel the building of international hydrogen valley and the development of fuel cell industry in Lingang New Area of SHFTZ.

The petrol-hydrogen station is a major component of Shanghai’s fuel cell electric vehicle plan of “100 stations, RMB 100 billion worth of output and 10 thousand vehicles”. The petrol-hydrogen station project has set a record in construction period among similar projects. From acquisition of land to completion acceptance, equipment commissioning and business license, it achieved seamless connection in 354 days, demonstrating the determination and confidence of CNPC to participate in the construction of Lingang New area.
